I think we can help - the thread that you need can be found here: emblemedge.com.
The looper not picking up the thread requires some bending. If you'd like we can talk you through it.
I work for the Merrow Sewing Machine Co. and live in Massachusetts. If i'm traveling you won't find me buying sim cards, and i'll probably be stopping by local realestate offices and commenting on how expensive housing is...
i enjoy Merrow. I'm glad that you've taken the time to join us at merrowing.com -- if you have any questions or comments send them my way.
I purchased the machine at Miami Industrial while in Florida a couple of weeks ago. They showed me that it stitched, and I had the opportunity to stitch it also. They packed it up and I brought it home with me to California. I went to Orange County Industrial and they installed it onto the table. I bought the nylon for the needle and lower looper, it is .008. I purchased the floss from Enmart. It stitches the merrow edge, but I notice the lower looper thread is loose under the patch, and it also seems to be rough on the outer edge. I believe I have the tensions incorrect, but was also wondering if I have too thick of nylon thread. Where could I find more instructions? Thank you for any help.
I was wondering if anyone here has ever had to change the feed eccentrics on the active seam machine? I am currently running a 6-82-28 with a 6-82-32. When I sew stretch fleece, the seam comes out very wavy and doesn't lay flat. I am thinking I need to run two 6-82-32 to have the feed take up evenly without the stretch. Can anyone offer their opinion on what I am thinking or how difficult it may be to take on the task of changing these eccentrics out myself? Thanks See More
"Sorry to hear that the A-3DW didn't work out, I was hoping I would be able to get mine to do the emblem edge as well. 30 Stitches/inch seems in the ballpark. I have seen people recommend 32-38, but have gathered that its mostly a factor…"
"the cams were tight so i used an emery wheel and lowered the thickness a couple thousands, placed in machine it runs fine, but the cam is only a 30 so it sewed 30 stitches per inch, not what i was looking for so this machine and the other are going…"
Hello Everyone, I am the proud new owner of an MG3U for my embroidery business. It seemed to sew perfectly in the store, but since I have the machine home, I am having issues. I think I have the tensions set right, but it continues to miss loops of the cover thread.20130830_065416.jpg…See More
"So have you gotten your machine working the way you want yet?
I'd like to hear how your cams worked out. Did you have to go ahead and change the loopers to the ones you ordered or did the loopers in the machine work OK?
"Just sent a couple emails back and forth to your guy.
His cams are also imported, so I'm going to wait & see how things work out for you.
My machine has the A70-14 needle plate which is for a 1/8" border which is what I want.
Here is what I got so far
77-mer looper at 35.75
94m looper 19.60
A70-15 plate 35.15
2 6-82-30 cams @ 11.75
This is all assuming that your machine is presently set up with a 1 needle carrier. You can tell it is so if your needle has a…"
"Did he mention why you would have to change out a working looper? The parts manual lists only 1 upper looper #81, and 1 lower looper #84 that are used on the A-3DW. Other loopers seem to be designated for different machines.
I have seen others…"
"I have the same problem. My machine had a #12 set of eccentrics (you need 2 by the way, one for the front feed dog and one for the rear feed dog. This machine (A-3DW) is capable of differential feed where the front and rear feed dogs can use…"
