I work for the Merrow Sewing Machine Co. and live in Massachusetts. For info I grab digg and reddit... for substance the nytimes and economist. If i'm traveling you won't find me buying sim cards, and i'll probably be stopping by local realestate offices and commenting on how expensive housing is...
i enjoy Merrow. I'm glad that you've taken the time to join us at merrowing.com -- if you have any questions or comments send them my way.
I am looking for a used but useable, MG-3U machine for doing patches.
I am a retired hobbiest and not a production facility so a new one is out of the question.
How much should I expect to pay for a machine in good condition.
If anyone has one, please let me know at miker1615@aol.com.
I printed off the manual but I really can't see how it all goes together. I am going to work on it the next few days to see if I can figure out how to put it together. I just hope it works I will be very happy if it does.
Thanks for your help with the motor. Are you able to tell me which threads I need for this machine, it is very difficult to buy in Australia and I may need to buy from o/s. Regards, Jo Stewart
Checked into your website to see what I can do with MG and M machines. Are they considered general sergers or can I interchange the throat plate etc. to get a different looking stitch? I have worked on industrial textile equipment for 30 years and have a small business in maintenance and repair. I picked up 6 of these machines and ready to tinker. Thanks ahead of time.
Charlie, I just wanted to tell you that I think you make a great machine and I am so very glad they are made here in the USA. I bought my first Merrow used at an estate sale back in my home town of Erie PA last fall and had it serviced by Rento's Sewing when I got it back to CT. Renato is a good guy and really knows his stuff. My real name is also Renato and we have become friends due to our mutual addiction to sewing machines, although the money only seems to travel in one direction! . I do upholstery and window treatments in and around CT. I find that I am looking for excuses to buy more Merrow machines! Anyway, Keep up the good work. Renato (the other one).
An MG-3U thread diagram would be great. Can you send me a link?
Ken
