Charlie,
It's been a while since I've visited...have you done the training session? Was it recorded? What I can't figure out how to do on my MG-3U are the inside corners of military patches where there are rockers on the bottom and top. I know it can be done because I have some of those patches. I just run into trouble when the patch runs into the machine.
Larry,
I bought a variable speed motor from Merrow and slow it way down. This helps keep it manageable for me.

I recently purchased a used MG-3U to edge patches. Could anyone give me some helpful hints as to how I can learn to produce sellable work, follow the edge, turn round corners, turn square corners, etc. In other words I need some help and the closest machine that I could go see is about 3 hours drive away.

Hello Merrow Community,I recently purchased a Merrow A-3w overlock from eBay. According to the serial (59622) It was manufactured in the mid 30's. I was wondering if anyone knew about this model or how the model numbers are made up. Are all A series machines the same? I think I figured it out.
I start with about a 4-6" chain.
I start sewing with the edge under the needle.
No cutter,(the material is precut and fixed to a freely rotating platform)
