I love my Merrow machines, I have 4 and I don't even sew. I have played with and modified, sorry Charlie, an old A-3DW to sew a perfect merrow edge. The key is the thread, and some minor mods to the machine, but corners, like playing at Carnegie Hall, take practice, practice, practice. I also do emblems and I have not gone to the expense of an MG-3U because I frankly can't afford it for the volume of business that I do. I use pre made emblems that have that nice Merrow edge already in place. I don't seem to have enough Korean or Chinese, or whatever it takes, in me to negotiate those corners and I get tense getting my fingers that close to a needle moving at the speed of sound. Pre-made emblems have limitations but for standard sizes they can't be beat. Check out my website. www.patchthing.com.
